Welcome to the Swamp! In late 2025, a significant amount of invasive and aggressive native vegetation was removed from this area. Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is a 155-acre nonprofit urban nature sanctuary located just miles from Downtown Houston. The Arboretum's mission is to provide education about the natural environment to people of all ages and to protect and enhance the Arboretum as a haven for native plants and animals.
