The Ashley National Forest was established in 1908 and has welcomed millions of visitors to northeastern Utah in the years since. 3 hours from Salt Lake City, the 1.4 million acres that make up the forest is a haven for people and wildlife alike. Designated in 1968, the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area boasts world-class boating and lake fishing, miles of hiking, biking, cross country skiing, and nature trails, a historic ranch, a fire tower, a state-of-the-art visitor center, and a blue-ribbon trout fishery found on the Green River below the Flaming Gorge Dam.
