Briar Bush Nature Center is a 12-acre natural area predominated by young succession and 150 year old second growth woods. It is an oasis in the dense development of the greater Philadelphia region. This view looks out from the deck of our Nature Museum, a converted historic home with exhibits and live animals. In the background you can see a bit of the Griscom Bird Observatory cabin. The Griscoms were a Quaker couple that bought the land in 1905 and ran it as a semi-private bird sanctuary for over 50 years. The site also has a pond, trails, and Nature Playscape.
