About North American Land Trust

North American Land Trust (NALT) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, established in 1992 by Andrew Johnson, with the primary purpose of preserving and managing open space with ecological, agricultural or historical significance.

Unlike most land trusts, NALT works with landowners across the United States, from Oregon to Texas and New York and back. Most of the Conservation Easements that we hold can be found in the eastern United States from New York to Florida with a total of 575 conservation easements, spanning 138,500 acres of conserved land in our 30-year portfolio. NALT has a strong Pennsylvania footprint, holding 65 conservation easements in southeastern Pennsylvania, protecting nearly 2,800 acres of land. Today, NALT also owns and manages Brinton Run Preserve, a historical and ecological preserve, open to the public in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
