Allin's Cove Conservation Area is an expanse of marsh, grassland and wooded upland surrounding a tidal cove in Barrington, RI. The area has undergone significant changes over the decades due to dumping of manufacturing biproducts and disposal of dredge spoils in the early to mid-1900s. Restoration efforts began in 1996. Sea level rise and invasive species continue to threaten this sensitive cove, which is home to many shorebirds, sea life, mammals, and amphibians.
The Barrington Land Conservation Trust was founded in 1979 as a nonprofit organization to protect and steward our local natural, scenic, historic open spaces. BLCT advocates on behalf of protection for these lands and works to educate the public about these resources.
