Friends of Chakchiuma Swamp (FCS) is a community based nonprofit organization focused on connecting people to nature with creativity, curiosity and conservation activities. This mission is accomplished with interpretive & conservation classes, workshops, events and other activities. Lee Tartt Nature Preserve provides the location and focus to carry out our mission. FCS was established in 2018 in response to a timber harvest threat to a public wetland.

To create comfortable access to a Mississippi bottomland forest and provide sensory based interpretation designed to create experiences connecting people of all ages and backgrounds to nature in meaningful ways.
