The Springcreek Confluence Off-Channel Wetlands project is a 14-acre off-channel wetland restoration project. The project site is located in a 40-acre field that had been previously planted with trees and shrubs through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Partners for Fish and Wildlife (PFW) Program in partnership with the property landowner, and the Miami County Park District (MCPD). Restoration of the off-channel wetlands will filter floodwaters from the Great Miami River and Spring Creek during high water events and reduce in-stream energy. Fish and wildlife habitat will also be improved by wetland habitat for native fishes, macroinvertebrates, migratory birds, and reptiles/amphibians.
